Elly's Contrast Checker
Overview
A professional accessibility tool to check colour contrast ratios.
Elly Contrast Checker is a professional accessibility tool that checks colour contrast ratios against WCAG 2 AA standards — directly in your Chrome side panel. What it does - Calculates the contrast ratio between any two colours in real time. - Reports Pass / Fail per WCAG SC 1.4.3 (text) and SC 1.4.11 (non-text and UI components). - Takes font size and weight into account to apply the correct threshold (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text or non-text content). - Supports foreground transparency: alpha values are correctly composited against the background before the ratio is calculated. Smart suggestions When a combination fails, the extension suggests passing alternatives by adjusting the foreground lightness, the background lightness, or the alpha value — so you can fix the issue without leaving your workflow. Built for designers and developers - Toggle between HEX, RGB and HSL formats on the fly. - Save your favourite passing combinations for reuse. - Optional audio feedback for pass and fail results. - Lives in the Chrome side panel — out of your way, always one click away. Built by Eleven Ways, accessibility specialists based in Belgium.
