Overview

Learn medical English in a side panel: 2000+ terminology flashcards with images, examples and audio. Spaced repetition (SRS).

Medical English teaches the words a doctor or a nurse actually needs on shift, and it does that right inside the browser. The extension opens as a side panel next to your working tab: while a patient record loads, while there is a gap between appointments, while you read a paper — you clear a dozen flashcards and go back to work. 💡 Why this works Nobody needs the entire terminology of the profession. You need the two thousand items that are spoken on the ward every single day. We took exactly those and teach them with spaced repetition: a term comes back right before you would forget it. Ten minutes a day is enough for a word to stop being something you look up and become something you say. This is not a dictionary. A dictionary answers one query and closes. Here you get a system that decides for itself what to show you and when. 🚀 How the studying is built ➤ The algorithm adapts to what you already know ➤ Each card carries an English definition and a translation ➤ Three examples per term, taken from real clinical situations ➤ Audio for every item, so pronunciation gets built in ➤ An associative picture, so the term sticks faster 📚 What goes into your working vocabulary Only the wording you are going to use: 1. Core clinical concepts for doctors and nurses 2. Symptoms, history taking and talking to patients 3. Diagnosis, treatment and describing procedures 4. Anatomy, body systems, basics of pharmacology 5. Ward, theatre, emergency department, intensive care 6. Everyday communication inside a healthcare team 🧠 How spaced repetition behaves ① A new item is shown several times within one session ② Then the gap grows: a day, three days, a week, a month ③ A mistake brings the card back into rotation much sooner 🎯 Who it suits 1️⃣ Nurses preparing for NCLEX or OET 2️⃣ Doctors before USMLE, PLAB or an interview abroad 3️⃣ Students of medical and nursing programmes 4️⃣ Pharmacists, dentists, midwives and paramedics 5️⃣ Anyone who knows medicine but freezes in English 🧩 Different ways of checking Monotony kills motivation, so the same term comes back from different angles — from simple recognition all the way to recall without any hints. 🔤 Picking the translation among close variants 🧱 Building a phrase out of shuffled fragments 🎧 Checking by ear with no text to lean on 🖼 Recalling through the associative picture ✍️ Giving the final answer with no prompts at all 📈 What changes in a month • The right word surfaces on its own, with no inner translation • You understand patients and colleagues the first time round • Notes, discharge letters and protocols read noticeably faster • You reach the exam with the wording already automatic • You stop avoiding terms you are unsure how to pronounce ⏱ Why a side panel beats an app - Practice never covers the tab you are working in - The panel closes with one click and reopens in place - A badge on the icon shows how many reviews piled up - Progress is stored locally, signing up is not required - Material downloads in advance, so a network is optional 🌍 Eight interface languages Learning English through English is hard while English is still the thing you are learning. So the extension speaks to you in English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, Italian, Turkish or Polish. Every item and every example is translated into the language you pick. 🔒 About data and privacy The extension does not read the content of sites you open and does not track your browsing history. All it needs is its own storage for the term base and your progress. Nothing is sent anywhere and no account has to be created. 🔑 How to begin Install the extension, choose your interface language and open the first set: twenty new items take about ten minutes. From there the system suggests what to review and when. The whole base is open for free: the extension has no daily limits and no paid sets. Separate apps for Android and iOS come in handy if a phone suits you better. Medical English is the language of the profession for people who already know medicine and now need the words for it. An important note: this extension is not a medical resource. The material serves the study of professional English only and is not meant for medical education, diagnosis or treatment. It is an independent study tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by the owners of the OET, NCLEX, USMLE, PLAB and IELTS examinations, or by the NHS.
