Mediawiki Cite Web Markup Wizard
Overview
Highlight text on any website and obtain a ready made wikipedia-ready citation markup to your highlight.
This extension is for Wikipedia and/or Mediawiki page editors. It enables to highlight a segment of text on any web page and obtain a full "Cite Web" style markup containing the title of the page cited, the link to the highlighted text and the extraction of the root domain from the link as source, properly wrapped within <ref> tags in the following format: {{highlighted_text}} <ref>["{{link_to_page}}#:~:text={{highlighted_text}} {{title_of_page_cited}}", {{root_url_from_link}}</ref> The above is copied automatically to the clipboard. All that's left is to paste it in the right place on the Wikipedia/Mediawiki page you're editing. This extension is a fork of Google's "Link to Text Fragment" with slight code additions to handle the extraction of a cited page title from the DOM of the page where the text is cited, simple JS to extract the root domain of the sourced website from the full page link and JS to wrap all with markup language.
