Media Player - Audio and Video
Overview
Use Media Player - Audio and Video as an audio player for local tracks, or a movie player with speed and volume controls.
Local recordings, ready to play Use Media Player to watch saved clips and listen to recordings in a dedicated Chrome tab. Open one file from your device, choose a comfortable pace, and pick up where you left off. As a computer video player, it puts familiar viewing controls beside your saved material. Keep lectures, interviews, music, and films within reach while working in your browser. Start in three steps 1. Click the extension icon; its dedicated tab opens. 2. Choose local content using the button, or drag it into the window. 3. Press play, then adjust loudness or jump between moments. Audio player without a connection Take an offline music player along when traveling, studying away from Wi-Fi, or listening at your desk. Files stay on your device; playback does not require an upload. The media player handles one recording at a time, making it easy to focus on what you opened. Choose your listening pace ➤ Select rates between 0.5× and 3.5× in steps of 0.25×. ➤ Slow down dense explanations or unfamiliar spoken phrases. ➤ Use an audio speed change while preserving voice pitch; the video speed controller offers matching rate options for watching. ➤ Restore 1× whenever you want the original timing. Watch with room to focus Choose a slower pace for downloaded lessons or increase video speed when reviewing familiar material. This movie player also offers fullscreen viewing: double-click the picture or press F. Controls fade during viewing and return when you move your mouse; pausing keeps them visible. Find a moment by sight ▸ Use an audio player to see an opened recording’s waveform. ▸ Zoom into its shape for closer inspection. ▸ Click any visible point; playback jumps directly there. ▸ Hover over the graph for time previews in seconds. ▸ Use the seek bar independently if large recordings cannot display their graphs. Extra loudness for quiet recordings • Normal volume runs from 0–100%. Boost extends the slider to 600% without changing the current level. • Reset restores 100% and the normal range; mute retains your selected setting. • Raise amplification gradually: high levels can affect sound quality. • Each new file starts at 100% with Boost disabled; loudness is not remembered. • These controls also work in fullscreen; system output settings still affect what you hear. Useful shortcuts within reach • Press Space to pause or continue. • Tap Left or Right to jump five seconds. • Use M to mute or restore sound. • Use F for fullscreen while watching. • Press Esc to exit expanded viewing. • Hold Shift or Ctrl/Cmd with comma or period to adjust pace by 0.25×. Continue a previous session ▸ The media player remembers position and rate for up to 200 recent files. ▸ Select that source again manually to restore its saved settings; no playable copy remains inside the extension. ▸ Finishing playback resets its stored position to the beginning. ▸ Recent files retain their individual rates, so familiar content can run faster while difficult material stays slower. Make everyday recordings easier to review ➤ Revisit lectures before exams at comfortable rates. ➤ Review interviews closely before writing your notes. ➤ Check personal clips in a movie player using expanded viewing. ➤ Practice listening with spoken material stored on your laptop. ➤ Hear quiet voice memos using adjustable amplification. ➤ Continue unfinished podcasts after taking breaks. ➤ Enjoy saved tracks during journeys without network access. When a file needs another approach This multimedia player first tries direct browser playback. Format support depends on the container, codecs, and your Chrome setup. If opening fails, choose Try compatibility playback for local preparation of a temporary playable copy. Conversion can be cancelled, may take significant time or memory, and cannot guarantee every format. Reopening an incompatible source requires preparation again. Some clips may show pictures without audible sound if their soundtrack is unsupported; this case does not automatically trigger conversion. Local files stay local • Media Player processes recordings on your device, leaving originals unchanged. • Neither files nor waveform data are uploaded; limited usage events are sent through the project backend. • There are no playlists, subtitles, or streaming links; this tool is for local playback, not editing or exporting. • Add the extension to Chrome and open your next recording. Its controls remain in English.
