Overview
Restricts global media keys (Play, Next, Prev) to control only YouTube Music, preventing interference from other tabs.
Take full control of your music listening experience. Media Keys for YouTube Music Only ensures that your keyboard's media buttons strictly control YouTube Music, ignoring all other audio sources in your browser. Do you hate it when you press "Pause" to stop your music, but it pauses a YouTube video or a Twitch stream in a background tab instead? This extension solves that problem by locking the global media keys to the YouTube Music tab. Key Features: Exclusive Control: Forces Media Keys (Play/Pause, Next Track, Previous Track) to work only on music.youtube.com. No Interruption: Prevents other websites (like standard YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Vimeo, or Spotify Web) from hijacking your keyboard controls. Lightweight: Runs quietly in the background with zero configuration required. Important Note: After installing the extension, if you already have YouTube Music open in a tab, that page needs to be refreshed for the changes to take effect. The extension is designed to automatically refresh the page for you, but if it does not, please perform a manual refresh (F5). 🎮 Troubleshooting: Keys Not Working In-Game? If media keys do not work while playing games (like League of Legends, Valorant, etc.), it is because the game is running with "Administrator" privileges, blocking Chrome from detecting key presses. How to fix it: 1. Run Chrome as Administrator: Close Chrome completely, right-click the Chrome icon, and select "Run as administrator". (Most effective solution) 2. Check Shortcuts: Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts and make sure the keys are set to "Global". 3. Display Mode: Try switching your game setting to "Borderless Window" mode.
