Visit Budget
Overview
Make website checking deliberate with visit budgets, active-time limits, and permanent blocks.
Visit Budget turns automatic website checking into a deliberate choice. Give a site one of three boundaries: - Visit budget — allow a chosen number of daily re-entries. - Active-time budget — allow 15 minutes to four hours, counting only while its tab is selected in focused Chrome. - Permanent block — keep the site unavailable. Like Odysseus tying himself to the mast, you set the guardrail before the urge arrives. Refreshing a page and ordinary navigation within the same configured site do not use another visit. You can also choose whether returning to a site from another tab counts as a re-entry. When a budget runs out and access is genuinely necessary, an override remains available — but it is not effortless. Wait 15 seconds, choose a 5–60 minute access window, then enter a fresh confirmation code. Permanent blocks have no override. Private by design: no account, analytics, ads, telemetry, or browsing data leaving your device. Website access is requested only when you create a rule for that website. Visit Budget provides deliberate friction, not an unbreakable lock. You can still remove the extension or use another browser or profile. Its purpose is to create a small pause, long enough to decide what you want to do next. If it helps, an honest review or feedback on what would make it better is always welcome.
