)Overview
Clean, tile-based New Tab bookmark dashboard. Spotlight search, drag & drop, undo, themes — offline & private.
Turn every new tab into a fast, organized dashboard built from your existing Chrome bookmarks. mdash replaces the default New Tab page with a two-column, tile-based layout that mirrors your bookmark folders. No accounts, no sync services, no data leaving your browser — everything runs locally through the Chrome Bookmarks API. WHAT YOU GET ★ Two-column layout — organize folders on the left and right side for a clear visual split between work, personal, tools, and anything else. ★ Spotlight search — press Option+F (macOS) or Ctrl+F (Windows) to instantly search all bookmarks. Navigate results with arrow keys, press Enter to open. Middle-click or Cmd/Ctrl+Click opens in a background tab without leaving the dashboard. ★ Full edit mode — click "edit" to unlock the dashboard. Add, rename, or delete bookmarks. Rename or delete entire sections. Create new folders. All from the dashboard itself, no Bookmark Manager needed. ★ Drag and drop — move bookmark tiles between sections, or drag entire sections between the left and right columns. Everything updates in real time. ★ Undo everything — every action (add, delete, edit, move, rename) shows a 30-second Undo notification. Accidentally deleted a folder with 20 bookmarks? One click brings it all back. ★ Light and dark themes — switch instantly from the top-right menu. Your choice is remembered. ★ Three font sizes — small, medium, or large. Scales the entire dashboard to fit your screen and preference. ★ Smart favicons — automatic favicon resolution with fallbacks. Custom icon mapping for popular services (ArgoCD, Grafana, Jenkins, etc.) so internal tools look right too. ★ Responsive — adapts from wide monitors to narrow windows. One column on small screens, two columns on large ones. ★ Keyboard accessible — visible focus rings, full keyboard navigation in search, Enter to confirm dialogs, Escape to cancel. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install the extension. 2. Open a new tab — if you already have a [Dashboard] folder in your bookmarks, your tiles appear automatically. 3. If not, create a folder called [Dashboard] inside Other Bookmarks. Add subfolders inside it — prefix with + for the left column, - for the right column. 4. Add bookmarks to those folders (from the Bookmark Manager, the star icon, or directly from the dashboard in edit mode). That is it. No setup wizard, no sign-in, no configuration files. PRIVACY Zero data collection. Zero external requests (except favicon lookups via Google's public S2 service). No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. Your bookmarks stay in Chrome and nowhere else. The extension requires only the "bookmarks" permission to read and write your bookmark tree. Built for developers, power users, and anyone who opens a lot of tabs and wants their most-used links one click away.
