Open bookmarks in a new tab

Make every bookmark open in a new tab — with just a left-click.

❤️ A small change that turns your browsing into a more natural flow. The browser does not provide a built-in setting for this. The extension uses a URL-based workaround to make regular left-clicks open bookmarks in a new tab by default. Your current tab never gets overwritten. ✅ How it works To make this possible, the extension adds a small marker "newtab@" to your bookmark URLs. This is required because extensions cannot directly change the default left-click behavior of the bookmarks bar. You can always restore your bookmarks to their original URLs from the extension options by switching the extension OFF. ℹ️ Known limitations 1. Some bookmarks may temporarily lose their icons. After you open the bookmark once, the browser restores the icon. 2. Some websites may show a “Leave site?” popup. You can click “Leave”. Your current page will stay open, and the bookmark will open in a new tab. 3. The bookmark star button in the address bar may not detect the current website as an already saved bookmark. 4. In some cases, a download/save dialog may appear when opening a bookmark. If it happens, please report the bookmark URL so I can investigate the exact case. 🗑️ Before uninstalling If you decide to uninstall the extension, please open the extension options first and switch it OFF.
