Matrix & Stats Calculator

A local spreadsheet scratchpad with math, probability, hypothesis tests, matrices and regression.

No account required. Built mainly for MAS-I. Keep a spreadsheet beside the page you're working on. Matrix & Stats Calculator opens in Chrome's docked sidebar for quick calculations, study problems and small data tasks. MATH AND STATISTICS Use familiar spreadsheet formulas for arithmetic, logarithms, rounding, sums, averages, variance, standard deviation and correlation. Calculate probability distributions, inverse probabilities, confidence thresholds and common hypothesis tests. MATRICES AND REGRESSION Multiply, invert and transpose matrices, calculate determinants, and fit linear regressions with LINEST. Array results fill neighboring empty cells automatically. FUNCTION HELP Browse usage notes, argument explanations and worked examples for 106 functions. Search by name or purpose, and use formula suggestions while typing. FAMILIAR SPREADSHEET CONTROLS Select cells and ranges, copy and paste tabular data, fill formulas down or right, insert and delete rows or columns, and undo edits. Adjust column widths and row height for readability. Selection totals show count, sum and average. LOCAL AND SIMPLE No account, analytics or page access. Calculations run locally, and your workbook saves in your browser profile. Export a JSON backup to keep a separate copy or move your work to another installation. GETTING STARTED Pin the extension and click its icon to open the sidebar. You can also use Alt+Shift+S, or customize the shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Drag Chrome's sidebar divider to change its width. This is a calculation scratchpad, not a full Excel replacement. Excel .xlsx import is not included; paste cells from Excel or Sheets instead. Each sheet supports 2,000 rows and 104 columns, with up to 30 sheets and 100,000 input cells per workbook. Some formulas and extreme statistical tails differ from Excel. See the in-app help for LINEST limitations.
