Matinee
Overview
A calm library for the YouTube videos you want to keep. Save in one tap, sort into folders, and keep it all on your computer.
Matinee is a calm, private library for the YouTube videos you want to keep. Save a video in one tap from the side panel, the button under the player, a right-click on a YouTube link anywhere, or Alt+Shift+S. Matinee keeps its own list inside Chrome: your Watch Later, playlists, likes and history on YouTube are never changed. SORT IT YOUR WAY • Folders, with one level of sub-folders, and tags • Quick sort: a calm run through everything you haven't filed yet • Drag a thumbnail from YouTube straight into a folder FIND IT AGAIN • Search across titles, channels, notes and tags • Smart views, such as "I've got 10 minutes" • Moments: mark the point in a video worth coming back to, and pick up where you stopped BRING WHAT YOU HAVE • Import your Watch Later and playlists from your own signed-in YouTube tab, or from a Google Takeout file. Importing only reads them. YOURS, ON YOUR COMPUTER • No account and no server. Your library is kept in Chrome on this computer. • Automatic backups to Downloads/Matinee, or a folder you choose • Export everything at any time • No analytics, no tracking, no advertising MAKE IT YOURS • Light and dark, colour packs and skins, all readable to WCAG AA A side panel beside YouTube, and a full page for when you want to sort properly. This is a private pilot. Thank you for trying it: tell us what works and what doesn't. Matinee is independent, and not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
