Overview

Website blocker that helps reduce distractions by solving a math problem before accessing sites.

📖 Full Description MathPause is a website blocker extension designed to help you reduce overuse of YouTube, social media, video sites, forums, and other distracting websites. When you open a restricted site, MathPause does not allow instant access. Instead, it creates a short pause by asking you to solve a math problem or a custom problem before temporarily unlocking the site. Rather than simply blocking websites, MathPause helps you stop and think before browsing, making it easier to reduce impulsive access, avoid wasted time, and build more intentional browsing habits. Main Features 1. Site Group-based blocking You can manage restricted websites by Site Group. Each group is always active, and all registered sites are restricted at the same time. This makes it easy to organize websites by purpose, such as social media, video sites, news sites, or other distracting services. 2. Temporary unlock with math or custom problems When you open a restricted site, a block screen appears. You can temporarily unlock access by solving a problem. MathPause supports both automatically generated math problems and your own custom problem list. This is useful when you want to pause before opening social media, YouTube, or other distracting websites. 3. Daily Limit for usage control With Daily Limit, you can set how much time you want to spend on restricted sites each day. Limits can be shared across all days or configured by weekday. MathPause helps you check your usage based on unlocked time, making it easier to review and control your browsing habits. 4. Time Schedule for time-based control Time Schedule lets you change access rules depending on the time of day. You can strongly block sites during focus periods and allow free access during selected times. This is helpful for studying, working, nighttime browsing, or creating a healthier daily routine. 5. Cooldown to prevent repeated access Cooldown prevents you from unlocking the same sites again immediately after an unlock session ends. This helps reduce repeated visits to social media or video sites and gives you a clearer break before returning to work or study. 6. Stay Away mode for stronger focus Stay Away is a focus mode that forces you to step away from websites for a set period of time. You can choose whether it applies only to restricted sites or to all sites. It is useful when you want to create a distraction-free environment before studying, working, or taking a break from browsing. 7. Hard Mode and Plan memo Hard Mode provides stronger blocking when you need stricter protection from distractions. Before unlocking a site, you can also write a Plan memo to clarify why you are opening it. After the unlock ends, the memo is shown again, helping you remember your original purpose and avoid aimless browsing. 8. Popup and history tracking From the popup, you can check today’s usage time, Daily Limit progress, unlock count, current unlock status, and your 7-day Usage / Unlock / Stay Away history. You can also add the current website to a Site Group, making it easy to manage restrictions directly from your browser. Recommended For People who often open YouTube or social media without thinking Students or workers who want to reduce distractions Users who want flexible control instead of complete blocking People who want to visualize their website usage Anyone who wants stronger restrictions during focus time or before sleep Users who want help following their own browsing rules Privacy MathPause does not collect or transmit personal data. Your settings, restricted sites, usage history, Daily Limit, streaks, and Stay Away records are stored locally in your browser.
