Math to Word — LaTeX & equations
1 rating
)Overview
Copy any equation into Microsoft Word with one click, from ChatGPT or any page that shows its maths properly.
Copy a maths formula from the web. Paste it into Word. It arrives as a real Word equation — editable, resizable, in the equation editor. Not a picture, not a line of broken characters. One click. That is the whole product. THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES Copy an equation from ChatGPT and paste it into Word, and you get something like this: f(x)~2n=1∑∞n(−1)n+1sin(nx) Every symbol is there and none of it means anything. The usual workaround is to retype the formula by hand in Word's equation editor, which takes minutes per formula and introduces its own mistakes. Math to Word puts a small "Word" button on every formula on the page. Click it, paste into Word, and the equation is there — properly typeset, and still editable as an equation. WHERE IT WORKS On any page that leaves the source of its formulas in the document, whether it was typeset with KaTeX or with MathJax. That covers assistants, wikis, course pages and preprint archives. There is nothing to configure and no list to consult: hover a formula, and if the button appears the page is supported. On a page without maths the extension does nothing at all — nothing is scanned, no style is injected. It also handles what usually breaks in the transfer: matrices and determinants, aligned multi-line equations, integrals and sums, negative numbers (which Word otherwise renders as an unfinished subtraction, inside a dotted box). HOW IT WORKS The formula on the page carries its original LaTeX source. The extension reads it, renders it to MathML, and puts it on your clipboard in the format Word expects (OMML). Word receives it as an equation because it is one. Nothing is sent anywhere. The conversion happens in your browser. FREE AND PAID Free: four conversions a day, every day, no account. Premium — €2.99/month, or €9.99 once and it is yours for good: • Unlimited conversions • Every device you sign in on One click, secure payment by Stripe, and the page you were working on unlocks itself. No licence key to find in an email and copy back. NOT AFFILIATED Math to Word is an independent extension. Microsoft Word and ChatGPT are named only to describe where the extension works and where it pastes.
