Overview

Insert and render mathematical notation in Google Forms responses using a WYSIWYG LaTeX editor.

Math for Google Forms lets students and teachers write mathematical expressions directly inside Google Forms answer fields — no copy-pasting from external equation tools required. How it works A small math button appears next to supported answer fields in Google Forms. Clicking it opens a visual math editor where students can build expressions by typing, using shortcuts, or clicking built-in symbol buttons. When they click Insert, the math is placed into the answer field and shown in rendered form. Teachers can also preview supported math formats while editing forms, working with answer keys, reviewing responses, and viewing correct-answer summaries. Features Visual WYSIWYG math editor powered by MathQuill No LaTeX knowledge required for basic use Full LaTeX support for users who prefer to type directly Symbol library covering Basic, Greek, Calculus, Sets & Logic, and Advanced symbols Multi-line math input for more complex answers Regular text support inside math expressions, useful for words like “multiplicity,” labels, or explanations Click-to-edit rendered math answers Automatic shortcuts such as root, squareroot, cuberoot, +-, and -+ Spacebar navigation out of exponent positions Renders math using KaTeX for fast, clean display Supports the extension’s [math]...[/math] format Supports legacy math.local math links Supports rendering EquatIO/Texthelp math URLs in supported Google Forms views Works locally in the browser Privacy This extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data.
