Default icons for local corporative sites

Material Design trying to show the site icon by querying to Google <img "src="https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain={target-domain.com}" ... >
The issue is when the target domain is in local corporative network with restricted access (most internal corporative sites in the World) it cannot be accessed by google and therefore the link is senseless and the Material Design shows default icon. This is sad because visual diversity in similiar links rows is quite important
