Overview
Masks personal data before your message reaches claude.ai or ChatGPT, then shows the real values on your screen.
mask2ai keeps personal data on your machine when you talk to an AI. Before a message leaves claude.ai or chatgpt.com, the extension finds email addresses, phone numbers, payment cards, IBANs, national ID and social security numbers, dates of birth, names and street addresses in it and replaces each with a placeholder. The model only ever sees placeholders. The reply comes back with the same placeholders and the page shows you the real values. - Runs entirely in the page. No server, no account, no telemetry. - A toast tells you how many values were masked each time you send. - Card numbers are Luhn-checked, IBANs mod-97-checked and Turkish ID numbers checksum-checked, so timestamps and version numbers are left alone. - English and Turkish formats. - The placeholder map lives in the tab and disappears when you close it. - Open source, MIT: https://github.com/serkankorkut/mask2ai Detection is pattern based. A bare name in free text with no title, label or matching email nearby is not detected. Full list of what is and is not caught: https://mask2ai.com/docs/ Not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic.
