Mascot

Sends your downloads to the Mascot app, which uses all your internet connections at once.

Mascot sends your browser downloads to the Mascot desktop app, which downloads each file over all your internet connections at the same time: Wi-Fi, Ethernet and your phone's tethered connection working on one file together. This extension needs the free Mascot app for Windows, macOS or Linux. WHAT IT DOES • Catches downloads as they start, including ones a page starts by itself, and hands them to Mascot. • Right-click any link, image, video or audio and choose "Download with Mascot". • If Mascot is closed, downloads wait in the extension and go to Mascot as soon as it opens. You can send any of them to the browser instead. • Turn it off for a single site, or for everything, from the toolbar button. • Choose what happens while Mascot is closed: wait for it, or let the browser download as usual. • Works with sites you're signed in to: the download is passed on with the same sign-in, so Mascot can fetch it. WHAT MASCOT DOES WITH THEM • Splits each file into pieces fetched over every connection you allow, at once. • Picks up where it left off after a dropped connection, a restart or a crash. • Queue, run-at-once limit and schedule; checksum checks; rules that sort files into folders by type or site; torrents and magnet links. PRIVATE BY DESIGN The extension talks only to the Mascot app on your own computer. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and there are no accounts, ads or tracking. Note: files a page builds inside the browser (links that start with "blob:") can't be handed over. For those, right-click the image or video itself and choose "Download image with Mascot".
