Unofficial MaruMori app: Vocab highlighting for subtitles/transcripts with dictionary tools on Netflix, YouTube, and Japanese sites
MaruMori comprehension: Unofficial MaruMori.io helper extension for Japanese subtitled videos. Colored subtitles with per word hover definitions, and a wordlist overview sidebar that shows all words and kanji in sorted by JLPT level, known/unknown status and frequency of the word or kanji in the video or transcript. On top of this, there is grammar detection and explanations with easy look-up. Built and tested for Comprehensible Japanse (cijapanese.com), Nihongo-Jikan (nihongo-jikan.com), Netflix (netflix.com) and YouTube (youtube.com) where subtitles in Japanese are available. It also features NHK Easy transcription highlighting. There is also a built in "Local Player" feature which allows the user to play a local video file with a subtitle file and have that color code according to MaruMori knowledge. Other features include: - "unknown words" historylog and recently watched videos with easy export to the MaruMori import tool - You can also import your own subtitles onto Youtube/Netflix instead of what Youtube or Netflix offers (and hotswap between both) - You can import a textfile, subtitle or copy/paste Japanese text and let the parser give you highlighting, translation and grading support
