Highlight, underline, and add notes to web text, then review saved annotations and storage insights from a fast popup.

Markwise is a web annotation extension for reading, research, and collecting important passages from web pages. Select text on a page to open a floating command bar, then apply rich marker styles such as green, pink, blue, and yellow highlights, wavy underline, double underline, strike-through, spoiler mask, and neon glow. You can also attach editable notes to selected text. Annotations are saved in Chrome extension storage and restored with text anchors, surrounding context, and page metadata when you refresh or revisit a page. The extension popup lets you quickly review annotations on the current page, export them as Markdown, and reopen pages that already contain saved marks. Markwise also includes storage management. From the settings page, you can review saved pages, annotation counts, estimated storage usage, annotation type distribution, domain distribution, recent activity trends, and manually clean up old annotations that have not been updated for a long time.
