Markly — Highlight & Save Any Page
2 ratings
)Overview
Highlight text on any page. Your marks come back when you return, and one panel keeps everything you've ever marked.
**Markly turns any web page into something you can mark up — and actually find again.** Select a sentence, pick a colour, and it's saved. Come back tomorrow, next week or next month and your highlights are exactly where you left them. No account, no sync service, no sign-up — everything lives in your own browser. **Highlight the way you read** • Five colours, so you can separate the interesting from the important • Three styles — fill, underline, or strikethrough — for when a block of colour is too loud for the page you're on • Attach a note to any highlight; it travels with the text into the panel, the search and the export • Highlight with the toolbar, the right-click menu, or Alt+Shift+H **One panel for everything you've marked** Open the side panel to see this page's highlights in reading order, or every highlight you've ever made, grouped by page. Search across all of them at once — quotes and notes both. Click any result to jump straight back to it, in context, on the original page. **Marks that survive the page changing** Markly doesn't remember *where* on the page you highlighted — it remembers the words. So when a site restyles, re-renders, injects an ad, or loads its article in a completely different order, your highlights still land on the right sentence. If a page is edited so heavily the text is genuinely gone, the highlight and its note are still safe in your panel. **Your highlights are yours** Markly makes no network requests. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Everything is stored in your browser's local storage, on your machine. Export the lot as Markdown any time you want to take it somewhere else, or as a JSON backup you can restore later. **Also worth knowing** • Works on dark sites — highlights adapt so text stays readable • Handles single-page apps and infinite scroll • A count on the toolbar icon tells you when a page has marks waiting • Turn Markly off entirely on any site you name • Undo on every delete
