MarkIt lets you select text on a webpage, save it in one of four highlight colors, add a private note, and export everything from the current page as clean Markdown. ### What you can do - Highlight selected webpage text in Yellow, Coral, Mint, or Sky. - Add a private, plain-text note to any saved highlight. - Restore highlights when you return to the same page. - Remove highlights and their associated notes whenever you choose. - Copy the current page's highlights and notes as Markdown. ### Private by design MarkIt has no account, analytics, advertising tracker, or cloud sync. Page URLs, titles, highlights, and notes are stored locally in your Chrome browser profile using `chrome.storage.local`. MarkIt does not transmit this information to the developer or to third parties. ### First-release limit This first release supports up to 100 saved highlights. Existing highlights remain safe if the limit is reached. ### Website access MarkIt runs on standard HTTP and HTTPS webpages so it can show saved highlights and let you create new ones. It does not run on protected Chrome pages such as `chrome://` pages, the Chrome Web Store, or other pages where Chrome blocks extensions.
