Overview
Local-first Chrome bookmark manager for fast search, Smart Capture, and private bookmark health review.
MarkHub is a local-first Chrome bookmark manager built for fast retrieval, privacy, smart capture, and bookmark health review. It syncs with your native Chrome bookmarks and indexes them locally, allowing you to search by title, URL, domain, normalized URL, folder path, notes, tags, saved quotes, and captured page metadata. Quick Retrieve brings bookmark search into Chrome's Side Panel, so you can find and open saved pages without leaving your current tab. Use the configurable keyboard shortcut or the Side Panel button in MarkHub to start searching. Quick Retrieve supports keyboard navigation and focused filters such as tag:, folder:, and domain:. Smart Capture lets you save the current page with useful context. Choose a Chrome bookmark folder, add notes and tags, and preserve selected text as a searchable quote. For an existing bookmark, you can update its context or move it to another folder. MarkHub also helps you maintain a healthier bookmark library by detecting duplicate links, reviewing unopened or stale bookmarks, and scanning saved links for pages that may be broken or no longer reachable. Key features: - Fast local bookmark search - Quick Retrieve in Chrome's Side Panel - Configurable keyboard shortcut for bookmark retrieval - Search filters for tags, folders, and domains - Keyboard result navigation and direct opening - Native Chrome bookmark synchronization - Smart Capture for the current page - Save notes, tags, selected quotes, and page metadata - Tree-based Chrome bookmark folder picker - Update saved bookmarks and move them between folders - Duplicate bookmark detection - Unopened and stale bookmark review - Broken link scanning - Scan progress and cached scan results - Chrome bookmark usage time support - Local-first data storage by default - URL access requested only when you start a link scan Privacy: Quick Retrieve and standard bookmark searches run entirely against MarkHub's local browser index. Bookmark data, notes, tags, quotes, and search terms are not sent to a MarkHub server. MarkHub is designed for users who want to preserve the context behind saved links, quickly retrieve old resources, reduce duplicate bookmarks, and review potentially broken links without unnecessary cloud dependency.
