Overview

Save pages with notes, tags and highlights, read them in a clean reader, and search every word you saved. Stored in your browser.

Marked is a library for the pages you want to keep, with the reason you kept them: your note, the passage you highlighted, a short abstract of the page, and tags. It lives in your browser, separate from Chrome's own bookmarks. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Save the page you're on with Add to Marked in the right-click menu, or Alt+Shift+M. On x.com, right-click a post and choose "Save tweet to Marked", or import all your X bookmarks at once. • Highlight any sentence in one of five colors, with a note: select text and press Alt+Shift+H, or, once you let Marked read the pages you visit, choose the Highlight button that appears. Your highlights come back when you revisit the page. • Organize with folders, tags and notes. Drag to move or arrange by hand, undo a move, and merge duplicates. • Search every word of the pages you saved, and read a clean copy in Marked's reader, with your choice of font, size, width and a light, sepia or dark page, even after the page is gone. • Find related pages: "More like…" on any bookmark, and a count on the toolbar button when the page you're on relates to your library. • Type "mk" and a space in the address bar to search your library. Save all open tabs as a folder and open them again later. • Import your Chrome bookmarks (Chrome's own copy is never changed). Export a full backup, a standard bookmarks file, or your notes and highlights as Markdown. • Optional: Chat runs the Qwen3 4B model on your GPU and answers with links to your saved pages. It needs WebGPU and downloads about 2.3 GB once. • Optional: Semantic search ranks your library by meaning using Jev (https://typesafe.ai/blog/introducing-system-one-models-and-jev), with your own TypeSafe API key (a paid service billed by TypeSafe). WHAT MARKED READS, STORES AND SENDS Marked has no server, no account and no analytics. Your library is stored in your browser. • Reading the pages you visit is optional. Marked asks when you first open it, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings > Browsing. With it, Marked shows the Highlight button, brings back your highlights and a check mark on pages you've saved, counts related bookmarks (from each page's title, description, headings and opening paragraphs), and keeps the text of saved articles you revisit. What it reads stays on your device. It never reads what you type into forms. • When you save a page, Marked keeps its title, a short abstract, its icon, its readable text and a small screenshot (untick Save preview to skip it), all in your browser. • Marked contacts other services only for these features: – X, to show your saved posts in the gallery (X receives each post's ID), and to read your X bookmarks page when you import it. – The public Hacker News and GitHub APIs, for a card and the discussion or README when you save one of their pages or download its text. No cookies are sent. – The sites you saved, when you ask Marked to download their text. No cookies are sent. – Hugging Face, when you download the chat model. – TypeSafe, only after you agree in Settings and then run a semantic search: your query and each saved page's title and abstract, plus notes and highlights only if you turn them on. Addresses, folders and tags are never sent. Privacy policy: https://marked-bookmarks-sand.vercel.app/privacy.html
