MarkdownPaper: Markdown Viewer

MarkdownPaper is a free Markdown viewer and reader for Chrome. Read a GitHub README, a raw .md file or any Markdown page online as a typeset page, right where it is, with no upload and no account. Click the button on a GitHub or GitLab repository, a raw .md file or a Markdown page on any site, and MarkdownPaper typesets it over the page: headings, tables, highlighted code, task lists, math and Mermaid diagrams, with the contents in the margin and three papers to read on: white, cream and dark. On GitHub, GitLab and most sites the address stays the same. Press Esc to see the page as it was, and click again to bring the paper back. Use it as a README viewer before you clone a repository, to preview a raw Markdown file from any site, or to read the plans, specs and reports AI coding agents leave on GitHub. Want more? Open the same page in the full reader on markdownpaper.app for find, editing, printing to PDF, export and share links. Right click a link to a README or a .md file and choose Open link in MarkdownPaper. Alt+Shift+M does the same as the button. Optionally, open Markdown pages on websites automatically as they load. It is off until you switch it on, and Chrome asks you first. Everything is typeset in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the extension keeps no data and has no analytics. For the Markdown files on your computer, there is MarkdownPaper Desktop for Mac and Windows: double click a .md file to open it on paper, preview it with Quick Look on a Mac, open it from the terminal, and watch the page follow every change as an AI agent writes it.
