Markdown Viewer: Local and Online Files, Mermaid, Math, Themes
Overview
Read markdown from your disk, a URL, or any web page. Works offline. Syntax highlighting, Mermaid diagrams, maths, dark themes.
Open a Markdown file in Chrome and read it as a clean page instead of raw text. It works on files from your own disk, and on raw .md URLs anywhere on the web, including `raw.githubusercontent.com`, gists and any plain server. Nothing is uploaded, and you never have to paste your text into a website. What you get is GitHub Flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, footnotes and alerts, syntax-highlighted code, Mermaid diagrams, KaTeX math and emoji shortcodes. Usual web pages can also be converted and viewed as rendered markdown. Click "See this page as Markdown" in the popup, or right-click the page and pick the extension's option, and the article is pulled out of the page, then shown as a document you can theme, copy, save as markdown or print. It runs only when you ask, on the one page in front of you. "View Original" puts the page back. There is a keyboard shortcut for it too. It ships with nothing assigned, and users can set their desired keys combination from extension's Settings page. To render files from your own disk, open the extension's details page and turn on "Allow access to file URLs".
