Markdown Viewer (GitHub style)
Overview
Renders open .md / .markdown files in the browser with GitHub styling and syntax highlighting, Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams.
Open a Markdown file in Chrome and read it as a clean, GitHub-styled page instead of raw text. FEATURES • GitHub Flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks • GitHub look in light, dark or system theme • Syntax highlighting for code blocks (highlight.js) • Mermaid diagrams, rendered locally in the page • Click any diagram to open a full-window viewer: zoom with the mouse wheel, drag to pan • Optional PlantUML diagrams through a PlantUML server you choose • Obsidian-style image sizing: ![alt|200] or ![alt|200x100] • Adjustable text width • The tab shows the document's first heading and a Markdown icon PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Everything is rendered on your computer. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts. PlantUML is off by default; if you turn it on, the diagram text is sent to the PlantUML server set in the options (you can run your own). LOCAL FILES To open files from disk (file:///…), go to chrome://extensions → Markdown Viewer → Details and turn on "Allow access to file URLs".
