Markdown Reader - Open Source Project
Overview
Read and view markdown files in browser. [Allow access to file URLs from extension settings]
Markdown Reader turns plain local Markdown files into a comfortable reading experience right in Chrome—similar to project or product documentation sites, but for files on your computer. What it does When you open a .md or .markdown file (or browse a folder of Markdown files), the extension renders the file with readable typography, code blocks, and tables instead of raw text. Highlights Table of contents built from headings, with quick jump links Folder mode: jump between Markdown files in the same folder from the sidebar Filter headings in the outline to find a section faster Collapsible sidebar when you want more space for reading Toggle raw Markdown source Fullscreen and print-friendly layout About dialog with project information Getting started Install the extension, then enable “Allow access to file URLs” in the extension’s details so Chrome can open local Markdown files. After that, open a .md file with File → Open or drag it into the browser. Privacy Designed to work locally in your browser; it does not add accounts or send your file contents to a server for reading. Please allow access to file urls from extension settings.
