Read Markdown files directly in your browser. Markdown File Viewer automatically renders .md and .markdown documents with headings, tables, lists, task lists, code blocks, images, and links. Works with local files and plain-text Markdown web addresses. You can also open a document using the toolbar’s file picker. Switch between rendered Markdown and original source. Includes automatic light and dark styling, printing support, and relative images and links. Documents are processed on your device, with no accounts, analytics, or document uploads. Raw HTML is displayed as text. For automatic local-file rendering, enable “Allow access to file URLs” in the extension’s Details page. Files opened through the toolbar picker cannot access neighboring images or files. Open the original file URL to use those resources. External images referenced by documents may contact their hosts. Compatible with desktop Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
