MarkDown Edit is a local-first Markdown workspace for writing, editing, previewing, and organizing Markdown documents directly in Chrome. Create a new document, open or drag in local .md and .markdown files, and see a live preview as you write. Choose editor, preview, or split view; adjust reading settings; browse a selected local folder; and download an edited Markdown copy when you are finished. Your working documents and preferences are stored locally in the browser. The extension does not upload or modify your original files. Free features include Markdown editing, live preview, local file import, Markdown download, and up to 3 recent local documents. MarkDown Edit Pro is available for US$1.99 per month. Pro unlocks polished HTML and PDF exports, the Files tab for reopening recent Markdown files, and an extended local document history of up to 50 documents. Payments and subscription status are handled securely by ExtensionPay and Stripe. The interface is available in English and Chinese.
