Markdown Capture

Capture supported web content as clean Markdown.

Markdown Capture turns content you choose into clean, ordinary Markdown that works with any Markdown editor. It is open source and designed to keep capture simple and transparent. Use the compact, source-aware menu to copy or download: - Main content from articles and documentation pages - Full rendered content from discussions, listings, application-style pages, and forms—including visible questions, entered text, selected options, and checkbox or radio state - Webpage content with downloaded images: **Download with images** saves a ZIP containing Markdown and an image folder with local links. Extract both together into Obsidian or another Markdown folder for offline use. - A selected part of a webpage—including links, images, lists, tables, and code—using **Copy Selection as Markdown** in the toolbar popup, the right-click menu, or Option+Shift+M on macOS and Alt+Shift+M on other platforms - Structured Reddit posts, discussions, and comment threads - Loaded Gmail conversations, with message details and cleaned bodies - Text from supported public PDFs and PDF attachments opened in Gmail Non-selection exports include the source URL in a metadata block. An optional setting adds a UTC capture timestamp and SHA-256 content hash, with the hash scope stated in the export. Your preference is remembered for future exports. For image ZIPs, the hash covers the final Markdown, not the image files. Markdown Capture is built to run locally in your browser, with no account, analytics, advertising, or external conversion service. It requests temporary access only after you invoke it on the active tab. Webpage and PDF conversion is best effort. Complex layouts, scanned PDFs, and content that has not rendered are not supported losslessly. Image downloads are available for ordinary webpages; images blocked by their servers or exceeding download limits retain their original web links.
