Markdown Anything turns any content into clean, structured markdown you can paste straight into AI tools, coding agents, or note-taking apps. ── WHAT IT DOES ── • Page → Extracts the article text and page structure using Mozilla Readability, then generates a frontend replication spec or article summary via your chosen AI model. • Image → Captures the visible tab as a screenshot (or right-click any image) and produces a UI build prompt ready for Cursor, v0, or React developers. • Video → Samples up to 6 frames from YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, or Facebook Reels and generates a video regeneration prompt for Sora, Runway, Kling, and similar tools. • File → Convert PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, or CSV files to markdown entirely inside your browser. No data is uploaded anywhere. ── KEY FEATURES ── • Streaming responses — output appears word-by-word as the model generates it • Copy or download the markdown with one click • Optional reasoning trace for supported models • Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+M (⌘+Shift+M on Mac) converts the current page instantly • Right-click context menu for pages and images • Results persist per modality so they're there when you reopen the popup • All settings stored locally — your API key never leaves your device ── SETUP ── 1. Get a free API key at openrouter.ai/keys 2. Click the extension icon → Settings → paste your key → Test connection 3. Open any tab and click Generate The default model is NVIDIA Nemotron Nano Omni (free tier on OpenRouter). You can switch to any multimodal model in Settings. ── PRIVACY ── Your API key and results are stored only in Chrome's local storage on your device. Content is sent to OpenRouter only when you click Generate — never automatically. File conversions run entirely offline in your browser. See the full privacy policy linked below.
