MarkDeck is a private Markdown viewer and reader for Chrome. Open local .md files, README files and technical documentation with Mermaid diagrams, syntax highlighting, highlights and notes. No account, ads or analytics. OPEN LOCAL DOCUMENTS • Read .md, .markdown, .mkd and .mdx files, plus direct document URLs. • Open local files in their own browser tab and keep your place when you reload. • Save changes in your text editor and see the document update live. • Read CommonMark and GitHub Flavored Markdown with tables, task lists and exact code copy. READ AND ANNOTATE • Five reading themes, six font choices (four bundled), adjustable text size, spacing and width. • Table of contents, search within the document, reading progress and zen mode. • Highlight passages, add notes and return to them later. Annotations stay in your browser profile. NEW IN 0.1.8 • Fit large Mermaid diagrams for an overview. When labels become too small, a notice offers a 100% view for readable text. • The notice supports keyboard access, screen readers, English, Spanish and Portuguese. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Local documents are processed on your device. No account, ads, analytics, telemetry or backend. • Remote documents and images load only after you allow the exact site. To open local files automatically, enable Chrome’s “Allow access to file URLs” setting for MarkDeck. The installation guide explains the steps. You can also choose a file manually. MarkDeck is a document reader, not an editor. MDX files are read as text; embedded scripts are not executed.
