Overview

Highlight anything on the web. No account. No setup. Highlights stay when you come back.

You read something important. You meant to save it. You didn't. Mark fixes that. Select any text on any page — a color toolbar appears, you pick a color, and the highlight is saved permanently in Chrome. No signup screen. No loading spinner. No subscription that expires. Come back tomorrow or next year — your highlights are exactly where you left them. ── WHAT MAKES MARK DIFFERENT ── ✦ No account. No server. No tracking. Everything stored locally — only you can read it. ✦ Works on any website: articles, docs, academic papers, Substack, Medium, Wikipedia. ✦ Injects a searchable transcript panel on any YouTube video. Highlights store the exact timestamp — click a highlight in the panel to jump to that moment. ✦ 7-day activity strip shows your reading momentum at a glance. ── HIGHLIGHTS ── • Four colors: yellow, green, blue, red — use them to signal meaning • Add private notes to any highlight • Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+1–4 to highlight, Escape to dismiss • Right-click any image to clip it to your collection • Search and filter all highlights across every saved page • Hover any highlight to edit, recolor, or delete ── EXPORT ── • Markdown — clean .md file with color labels, notes, and timestamps • Obsidian — > [!quote] callout blocks, ready to paste into your vault • Notion — push directly to any page via your integration token • HTML Notebook — beautiful standalone offline file with TOC and key summary • Per-page export — click ↓ next to any page to export just that page ── YOUTUBE TRANSCRIPTS ── A Transcript button appears in YouTube's action bar on every video with captions. Click to open a searchable panel — switch languages, search within the transcript, highlight any line. The exact video timestamp is stored with the highlight so you can jump back to that moment from the panel. ── PRIVACY ── Mark uses chrome.storage.local exclusively. No data ever leaves your browser. The only outbound requests are: • Google's favicon API (for page icons in the panel) • Notion API — only when you explicitly trigger a Notion export Zero analytics. Zero telemetry. Zero accounts. Zero subscriptions. Mark is free. Always.
