Mark Shopping Items

Helps participants mark and compare shopping options.

This extension is available only to recruited Prolific participants who have been invited to test a new online shopping product developed by a startup company. Participants explicitly consent to take part before using the extension. During the participant's shopping session, the extension records consented online shopping behavior to evaluate how participants interact with the product while searching for items, comparing products, and making purchase decisions in natural online shopping environments. The extension is an invitation-only prototype and is not intended for general public use. It is not a general shopping assistant, recommendation tool, coupon tool, or productivity extension. It only works for participants who receive a valid one-time access code from the study team. Data capture is session-gated: * no data are collected before a participant starts a valid test session; * an active "Session recording active" indicator is shown during capture; * participants can stop or withdraw from the session at any time; * capture stops automatically when the session is completed or aborted. During an active session, the extension may collect URLs, domains, page titles, navigation and timing events, interaction metadata, marked product-page snapshots, structured product information, AI prompt and response text on supported AI services when explicitly consented, post-session survey responses, and optional receipt or order-confirmation information. The product evaluation study is conducted under Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval from the National University of Singapore. All collected data are used only to evaluate and improve the product and are handled in accordance with the study privacy policy, participant consent materials, and the approved IRB protocol. Participants may decline to participate or withdraw from the evaluation at any time.
