Every professor posts assignments differently, and the deadline you missed was buried somewhere in Canvas. Margin reads your coursework where it already lives (every assignment, quiz, and deadline) and keeps it in one running list, right in your Chrome sidebar. No more refreshing five different course pages to piece together your week. WHAT IT DOES • Canvas, stay signed in the way you normally do; there's no key to generate or paste. Works with most US and UK Canvas sites: tell Margin your school's Canvas address once. If your school uses its own web address, you'll also approve a one-time browser prompt. • PrairieLearn and Gradescope, too (Margin Pass). If your courses use them, Margin reads the assignment lists on the course pages you visit and folds those due dates in. • Your calendars, as well. Add a subscription (.ics) link from Blackboard, D2L / Brightspace, Moodle, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or anything that exports one, and those due dates flow in alongside Canvas. • Straight into Todoist. Margin writes each assignment there, tidily labeled, and keeps it in sync: it clears duplicates and checks off what you finish. • Onto your Margin display. The Margin e-paper desk device reads the same as Todoist, so today's work sits on your desk, no screen to open, and nothing buzzing at you. The device is optional; the extension works on its own. FREE AND MARGIN PASS Margin Pass widens it to the whole semester: full-term calendar capture, PrairieLearn and Gradescope pages, syllabus import, and the semester side panel. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your assignments never pass through a Margin server. They're read in your browser and go straight to your Todoist, so we never see your assignment titles, due dates, or grades. We do run a small backend for sign-in and device sync. It stores only account and device data (your email, your plan, sign-in identifiers, an encrypted copy of your Todoist token, and your device's sync status) and never your coursework. Connecting to Todoist uses Todoist's official OAuth flow by default; you can paste a personal access key instead, and it stays on your machine. Either way, there's no password for us to see. Point Margin at your school in the welcome tour; pick Canvas and enter your school's Canvas web address once. Signed in? Your assignments start flowing. Add calendar feeds whenever you like.
