Overview
Check your installed extensions against a database of known malicious extensions
MalExt Sentry scans your installed browser extensions against a continuously updated database of known malicious extensions. It runs locally on your machine and never sends your data anywhere. The extension checks every installed extension ID against a public threat database hosted on GitHub, maintained by the Malicious Extension Sentry open source project. If any of your extensions have been flagged as malicious, you get an immediate alert with details about the threat. Scans run automatically every 6 hours in the background so you stay protected without having to think about it. You can also trigger a manual rescan at any time. The threat database is cached locally to keep things fast and reduce network usage. Your privacy matters. No browsing data, no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking. The only network request the extension ever makes is a one way download of the public threat database. Nothing about you or your extensions is ever sent anywhere. Whether you want to check if a recently removed Chrome Web Store extension is still sitting in your browser, or you just want peace of mind that your extensions are safe, MalExt Sentry has you covered. Features: Scans installed extensions against a verified malicious extension database - Automatic background scanning every 6 hours - Manual rescan on demand - Fully local and private, no data leaves your browser - Open source threat intelligence database with regular updates - Lightweight with minimal resource usage
