MakeYourTab
Overview
Mark, find, and manage Chrome tabs with color, emoji, text tags, and quick switching.
MakeYourTab helps you turn crowded browser tabs into a clean visual workspace with color, emoji, text tags, recent tags, and fast tab switching. Detailed Description MakeYourTab is built for people who live with too many tabs open. When many pages look similar, it becomes harder to remember which tab is important, which one is for reading, which one is still in progress, and which one needs to be revisited later. MakeYourTab solves this by giving your tabs a stronger visual identity. With MakeYourTab, you can mark the current tab using a color, an emoji, and a short text label. This makes key pages easier to recognize at a glance and helps you move through your workflow faster. Key highlights: Add visual tab markers with color, emoji, and text Make important tabs easier to recognize while they are open Reuse recent tags with one click Save presets for common workflows Jump between marked tabs faster Use a floating in-page panel to manage marked tabs visually Send an attention cue to another marked tab with a double-click Switch between Chinese and English MakeYourTab is especially useful for: Developers working across docs, dashboards, testing pages, and admin tools Researchers comparing multiple references and articles Operators managing reports, work queues, and platform pages Anyone who wants a faster and more visual way to work with many tabs The extension is designed to stay lightweight and practical. It focuses on local tab organization, quick recognition, and simple interactions that fit naturally into your browser workflow. MakeYourTab stores extension data locally in the browser, including user-created markers, presets, recent tags, and interface settings. It is designed as a privacy-friendly local-first tool and does not sell user data or use it for advertising. If you want your browser tabs to feel more organized, more visible, and easier to manage, MakeYourTab gives you a simple visual system that works directly inside Chrome. --- Permission use summary: The tabs permission is used to identify and activate marked tabs. The activeTab permission is used to interact with the currently active tab. The scripting permission is used to apply visual marker logic to supported pages. The storage permission is used to save local extension settings and marker data. Host permissions are used so the extension can apply and restore markers on supported pages selected or opened by the user. Technical limitation: The extension does not directly change the native background color of Chrome tabs. Instead, it provides visual tab recognition through title updates, generated marker icons, popup-based management, and the in-page floating panel. MakeYourTab is designed as a local-first utility for browser tab organization and quick tab recognition.
