Mailwright is a privacy-first Chrome extension that hands the most time-consuming part of email — writing it — to AI. It runs from a side panel, with no backend and no account needed. WHAT IT DOES Smart replies — Paste an email or grab it from Gmail or Outlook in one click; the AI drafts a natural, on-tone reply. Add an instruction like "politely decline" or "reply in Chinese", then insert the result straight into your reply box. Rewrite & polish — Turn any draft into Professional, Concise, or Friendly tone while keeping the original meaning and facts intact. Not quite right? Use Refine to tell the AI exactly how to improve it. Thread summary — Condense a long thread into a one-line TL;DR, key points, and action items in seconds. Local history — Every reply, rewrite, and summary is saved on your device. Search it, filter by type, re-copy, or delete anytime. Stored only in your browser's local storage; never uploaded. Streaming output — Results appear token by token. Stop anytime, copy or insert with one click. Saved signature — Save your sign-off once and it is automatically appended to every reply. The AI never fakes one. WHY YOU SHOULD INSTALL IT Real privacy — There is no backend. Your API key lives only in this device's chrome.storage.local, and your email text is sent only to the endpoint you configure in Settings. We never see your data. Install, pick a provider, paste a key, done. Friendly error handling — Clear messages for 401 / 402 / 429 / network issues. Model lists are pulled live from your provider, and you can type any model name manually. Optional telemetry — Anonymous usage metrics are on by default to help us improve, but you can turn them off anytime in Settings. No email content, generated text, or API keys are ever tracked.
