Analyze selected text or the currently open message in Gmail and Outlook.

Maillume helps you examine suspicious emails in Gmail and Outlook with a clear, explainable risk assessment. Open an email, click the Maillume extension, and choose “Use current message.” Maillume captures only the visible message you selected—or your selected text—and shows the captured subject, sender, and message text for review. Nothing is analyzed until you press “Analyze message.” WHAT MAILLUME DOES • Reviews the sender, message text, links, and common social-engineering patterns • Produces an explainable risk score and classification • Highlights the signals that influenced the assessment • Recommends a practical next step • Works alongside Gmail and Outlook in Chrome’s side panel • Supports English and Dutch DESIGNED FOR DELIBERATE, USER-CONTROLLED ANALYSIS Maillume does not continuously monitor your inbox. It does not scan messages in the background, inspect other tabs, or analyze an entire mailbox. The extension receives temporary access to the active tab only after you invoke it. You can review and edit the captured information before choosing whether to submit it for analysis. PRIVACY-FOCUSED BY DESIGN • No persistent Gmail or Outlook access • No background mailbox scanning • No browsing-history collection • No advertising identifiers or analytics • No message content or assessment results stored by the extension • Captured content is held briefly for the active panel and expires if unused When you press “Analyze message,” the reviewed subject, sender, message text, and relevant link information are sent to your selected Maillume deployment. The official hosted service processes this information to create the assessment and does not store the message or result. CONNECTION AND API KEY A Maillume API key is required. You can create and revoke dedicated API keys from your Maillume account. The deployment URL is stored locally in your Chrome profile. You can choose whether the API key should remain available across browser restarts or only for the current browser session. “Remove connection” clears the saved connection information and revokes the extension’s access to the selected deployment. EXPLAINABLE RESULTS Maillume is designed to show why a message received its score. Depending on the message, the assessment may identify signals such as: • Urgent requests or account-pressure tactics • Suspicious or mismatched sender details • Links that do not match the claimed organization • Requests for passwords, payments, or sensitive information • Language commonly associated with phishing or impersonation Maillume provides an automated risk assessment, not a guarantee. Always verify important requests through a known contact channel before sharing information, opening files, making payments, or signing in through an email link.
