Overview
Export Gmail threads to PDF or Markdown, summarize with AI, add private notes, and get unread alerts.
**You needed one email thread out of your inbox and into a file. Forty minutes later you have eleven screenshots and no idea which order they go in.** Mail Toolbox turns the conversation you are reading into something you can keep, search, hand to a colleague or attach to a ticket — and it does it without ever asking you to authorize an app against your mailbox. WHY INSTALL IT Most tools that touch your mail begin with an authorization screen: grant access, receive a token, hope it is looked after. This one does not have that screen. It works with the page you already have open, in the session you are already signed in to. There is no token to leak, nothing to revoke six months from now, and no server holding a key to your inbox. Exports and notes run entirely inside your browser. The AI features are the one exception, and they stay switched off until you sign in and press a button — at which point that one conversation's text is sent over HTTPS to be processed and is not stored or used for training. WHAT YOU CAN DO 📄 Save a whole conversation, not a screenshot One click turns the thread you are reading into a real document — a PDF that paginates and prints properly, a clean text file for your notes app, or the original message file for your archive. Attachments come along. Pick several threads and they merge into one document instead of one download prompt per message. 🖨️ PDFs your browser renders, so every language survives Pages are produced by the browser's own print engine rather than a bundled PDF library. Tables keep their shape, inline images stay put, and Japanese, Arabic and Hindi come out looking the way they do on screen instead of turning into boxes. ✨ Read a forty-message thread in one paragraph Summarize the conversation you have open, pull out every commitment and deadline as a checklist you can export, or translate the whole thread into your own language. ↩️ Draft the reply, keep the wording yours Ask for a draft in the tone and length you want, with your signature already attached, then edit it inside the normal reply box before anything is sent. Nothing is ever sent on your behalf. 🗂️ Sort the backlog instead of reading it Run a screenful of conversations through triage in one pass and see which ones need your reply, which are waiting on someone else, which are just FYI, and which can be archived. 📝 Private notes that stay out of the email Attach a note to any conversation — the context you would never put in writing to the other party. A colour stripe in the list tells you at a glance which threads carry one. Notes stay in your browser; paid plans can sync them across your devices. 🔔 Unread counts for every account at once A badge and optional desktop alerts covering several signed-in accounts and the labels you choose, on an interval you set. It reads the same feed your browser is already allowed to read. 🔒 It never asks for access to your account No authorization screen, no permanent token, nothing to revoke later. HOW YOU REACH IT A button in the toolbar above your messages, a right-click entry on any conversation, and keyboard shortcuts (Alt+P to export, Alt+S to summarize, Alt+N for a note). The toolbar button measures itself after it lands and steps down to a compact icon — or removes itself entirely — rather than pushing your message list out of shape on a narrow window. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Exporting, notes and unread counts are local to your browser. AI runs require an account and send only the single conversation you asked about; that text is not retained and is never used to train a model. Notes stay on your device unless you turn on sync. WHAT'S NEW 1.1.0 — Output language is now chosen per AI feature and remembered; AI runs show live progress and can be stopped. Available in 27 interface languages. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the company that operates the mail service it works with.
