MagiWords turns the pages you already read into your vocabulary lesson. Press Alt+Shift+M on any article and MagiWords highlights the words on it according to how well you know them — yellow for words that are new to you, blue for words you are still learning, green for words you have proven you know, and red for the ones that keep catching you out. The highlighting is a thin coloured underline, not a marker pen, so the page stays comfortable to read. Click any highlighted word to save it. MagiWords stores the word, its base form, the exact sentence you met it in, and where you found it — because a word remembered in context is a word you actually keep. Select a phrase to save several at once, or take every unknown word on the page with a single button. Every saved word also counts how many of your reading sources use it. Read three more articles and the words that keep reappearing rise to the top of your list — that is the difference between a word worth learning now and one you can leave for later. Later, review them. MagiWords builds short quizzes out of your own collected words and the real sentences you found them in: • Choose the meaning of a word • Choose the word for a meaning • Match a word to its dictionary definition • Fill the gap in the sentence you originally read • Type the word from memory • Work out which sentence you met a word in Pick how many questions you want and which of those types to be asked — all of them for a mixed round, or just one to drill it. Every answer moves that word's familiarity score, and a spaced-repetition schedule decides when you see it again — sooner when you get it wrong, gradually further apart as it sticks. Difficult and overdue words are always asked first. Tap the speaker on a word to hear it pronounced, or click its meaning to open Google Translate for a second opinion. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • It works where you already read. No separate app, no copying words into a list by hand. • It keeps the sentence. Definitions are useful; the sentence you met the word in is what makes it stick. • It understands word forms. "run", "running" and "ran" are one entry in your vocabulary, not three. • It does not touch the page. Highlighting never changes a page's structure, never breaks a form, a button, a code block or an editable field — and turning it off restores the page exactly. • It asks for nothing at install. MagiWords has no access to any website until the moment you invoke it, and only for that tab. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Everything — your words, your scores, your settings — lives in your own browser. There is no account, no sign-in, no server, and no analytics of any kind. If you turn on online lookup, MagiWords sends the single word (and nothing else — never the sentence, never the page you were on) to two free dictionary services to fetch a definition and a translation, then caches the result locally so it is never fetched twice. You can switch this off and MagiWords works entirely offline; saving and quizzing are unaffected. Meanings are shown in whichever of the eight languages you pick in Settings, and you can change that at any time. Clicking a meaning opens Google Translate in a new tab with just that word in the address — nothing reaches Google unless you click. The pages your words came from stay on your device.
