Mac Video Fullscreen — Keep Other Monitors Active

Watch supported Chrome videos in windowed fullscreen while keeping your other Mac monitors usable—even with separate Spaces off.

Watch video on one Mac monitor while working on the others. Mac Video Fullscreen expands supported Chrome videos into a maximized window without native macOS fullscreen or a separate Space. Useful with “Displays have separate Spaces” turned off. A thin title bar remains. For YouTube tutorials, Netflix shows, lectures and compatible HTML5 videos. Start playback and click the cyan corner button. On other sites, activate from Chrome’s Extensions menu. Escape or the corner button returns the same tab; closing the video window closes its tab. While expanded: Up/Down changes volume by 5%, M toggles mute, and Shift+Period/Shift+Comma changes speed by 0.25×, normally between 0.25× and 2×. Brief feedback appears on screen. Text fields, sliders and player menus retain their keys. Platform support varies; embedded or protected players may restrict controls. Native player indicators may not immediately reflect changes. Local controls, no analytics or data transmission to the developer. Automatic access is limited to YouTube and Netflix; other sites use temporary access after activation. Only tab ID, original window ID and tab position are stored in Chrome session storage for returning the tab. Exit video mode before updating or reloading the extension. If disconnected, reload the video page and use the corner button to return to a normal window; the original position is then unavailable. Controls are available in 14 languages, including Japanese, German, Italian, French and Spanish. Urdu player controls follow the first preferred browser language; the Store does not support an Urdu locale. Primarily for Chrome on macOS; Chrome 102 or later required.
