Overview

Download manager for Mac: send browser downloads to Lynx, split into parts, pause and resume after restart. Needs the Lynx app.

Lynx Download Manager Integration connects your browser to Lynx, a download manager for Mac with pause, resume and multi-part downloads. It needs the Lynx app on the same Mac (macOS 11 or later, Apple silicon). Get it at www.lynxdownloadmanager.com. The app has a free version and an optional Pro upgrade; this extension is free. Without the app, the extension does nothing and every download stays in your browser. What it does • Downloads you start in the browser go to Lynx, which splits each file into up to 32 parts, lets you pause it, and resumes it after a dropped connection or a restart. • Lynx takes a download only when it can fetch the same file itself. One-time links, and files that need something only the browser has, stay with the browser. • "Download in the browser instead" is one click away, every time. • Right-click a link, or select text with several links, to send them to Lynx. • A small Lynx button appears on many pages with video: download it, or open it in Lynx to download just the part you need. • The toolbar popup shows what Lynx is downloading, with pause, resume and Show in Finder. • If Lynx isn't open, the extension starts it in the background. Your data The extension talks only to the Lynx app on your computer, and it asks before it takes any downloads. When it hands a download to Lynx, it passes the file's link, the page it came from and that site's cookies for the file, so downloads behind a sign-in keep working. A page goes to Lynx only when you click the Lynx button or menu. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. No ads, no analytics.
