It runs entirely in your browser, and there is no Lux account to create. THE COMMAND PALETTE Press Alt+T from any tab, or click the magnifying glass in the toolbar, and one search box opens over your dashboard. • Run your widgets without touching them — play a song, check your feed, read your GitHub inbox, look up a stock, or see today's scores • Search your bookmarks, browsing history, open tabs, and most-visited sites • Search the web, or send a question straight to Claude or ChatGPT • Every command is listed whether or not it is ready. Anything still waiting on an account or a permission says so, and selecting it takes you where you need to go WIDGETS • AniList — your anime and manga lists, what you're behind on, and notifications • Calendar — your Google and Outlook events, read-only • GitHub — your contribution graph, notifications, and releases from repositories you watch; marks notifications read only when you do • Image — your own photos, as a single image or a slideshow • News — headlines from publishers you pick, opened on their own sites • Note — a scratch note, saved as you type • Quick Access — pinned links, bookmarks, history, open and recently closed tabs, top sites • Spotify — now playing, full playback controls, and search across Spotify (Spotify Premium is required to control playback) • Sports — live and upcoming scores for the leagues and teams you follow • Stocks — a watchlist of live quotes, with charts and a detail view • Tasks — a local to-do list • Weather — current conditions, an hourly chart, and the forecast where you are MAKE IT YOURS • Drag, drop, and resize widgets on a snapping grid — add as many as you like, including more than one of the same kind • Choose a background: a pattern Lux draws to match your theme, one from the built-in gallery, or your own images • Give each widget its own surface, translucent Glass or opaque Solid, and its own accent • Set a default look and refresh rate for every widget type, once • Rebindable keyboard shortcuts throughout • Export your whole setup to a file and restore it later, or on another computer YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Your layout, notes, and settings live in your browser. There is no Lux account, no tracking, and no analytics of any kind. Widgets that need an account — Google, Outlook, Spotify, GitHub, or AniList — connect only when you choose to connect them, and their data travels straight from your browser to the provider. Bookmarks, history, tabs, and top sites are read on your device, and only after you turn those features on. Nothing is ever sent on its own. The only thing Lux forwards is feedback you write and submit yourself. Free and open source, under Apache 2.0.
