Overview
Select any text: Luna translates it into the language you know best and shows how it works, word by word.
Luna turns anything you read on the web into a language lesson. Select a sentence in a news story, a message, a recipe or a song, and Luna translates it into the language you know best, then shows you how it works: which words go together, what each piece means, and the patterns worth keeping. The more you select, the deeper it goes. WHAT YOU GET • The language you know best, every time. Tell Luna every language you know. For each selection it picks the one that keeps the original most recognizable: Spanish "chantaje" becomes Russian "шантаж" rather than English "blackmail", and Luna tells you why. The same text in your other languages sits right underneath; click one to make it the main translation. • Color-linked chunks. Every chunk of the original shares a color with its translation, so you can see exactly which words became which, even when the word order changes. Point at a color to find its partner, in the card and on the page. • Depth that follows your selection. – One word: a word card with pronunciation and stress, the meaning in each of your languages, how common it is, words from the same root, the interesting part, and the word in context. – A phrase: a phrase card that names the pattern behind it ("poner a alguien a + infinitive"), with level, frequency, register, common combinations and examples. – A sentence or a passage: a line-by-line breakdown, Natural or Word for word, with the pieces explained and how it flows. – A whole text: the big picture, part by part, how the language moves (tenses, moods, commands), the words to learn first and a learning path. • Say it in the language you're learning. Select text in your own language and Luna shows how a native speaker would say it, the trap to avoid, and other ways to say it. • Read it aloud. Listen to a selection, a line or a single word with your browser's voices. • Save words and review them. Saved words are underlined wherever they show up on the web, and the toolbar button reviews them with spaced repetition (Again, Good, Easy), so they come back just before you'd forget them. • Mix words. Tap any words in a line to see what just that combination means. • Explanations at your level: A1–A2, B1, B2 or C1+. • Out of your way. A small moon appears next to your selection; click it when you want Luna, or ignore it and it fades. Prefer a keyboard? Press Alt+L, or right-click a selection and choose "Break it down with Luna". Turn Luna off on any site with one switch. • Immersion, if you want it. Turn it on and Luna swaps a few words on pages in your own language for the language you're learning; point at one to peek, click to learn it. • 28 languages, in any direction, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. • Your settings and saved words follow your account to your other browsers. PLANS • Free: your first 10 translations, after you sign in with Google. No card needed. • Luna Pro, $20 a month: unlimited translations and breakdowns on Luna's AI. No API key needed. (A fair-use speed limit keeps it fast for everyone.) • Luna Own Key, $10 a year: every Luna feature, running on your own OpenAI API key. OpenAI bills you directly for what you use. Both plans are memberships sold through Gumroad at shop.xt3.us. Paste the license key from your receipt into Luna's settings to unlock your plan, and cancel any time from Gumroad. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Luna has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and sells nothing. It reads only the text you select, and only sends it when you ask: the selection, a little of the text around it and the page title go to Luna's server (or straight to OpenAI if you use your own key) to write the answer. Your account keeps your email, settings, saved words and usage counts so they follow you between browsers. Answers are written by AI (OpenAI) and can occasionally be wrong. Luna is made by XT3 (https://xt3.us). Questions or ideas: ian@xt3.us. A real person answers.
