Overview

A prism slot machine where time is the only currency. Spin for Facets, collect 125 critters across two skins. No money, ever.

Lumenreel is a slot machine in which the only thing you can stake is time. **How it works.** Lumens accrue on their own at one per second, whether the tab is open or not, and they are the only thing a spin costs. The reels pay Facets — a separate currency that is never staked and never spent on a spin. Facets buy critters. There are 125 of them, drawn by code rather than by hand, and a draw never returns one you already own, so the collection converges instead of trailing off into a coupon-collector tail. Because the currency you stake and the currency the machine pays are different things, a spin that returns less than it cost cannot be dressed up as a win — the structure makes that particular trick unavailable rather than merely discouraged. **Features.** - Five reels, three rows, twenty fixed lines, with a published paytable per symbol and per line. - Five features that play out on the grid: Refraction Splash, Prism Thunder, the Prism Wheel, Crystallize (lock-and-respin) and free spins. - 125 critters across six tiers — Quartz 34, Beryl 26, Amethyst 20, Opal 14, Radiant 6, and a 25-strong Verdant Grove that is the rarest draw in the game. - A Playground where up to 24 critters you choose wander, walk over to each other, call each other by name, and hold conversations you can read in a live chatlog. - Three arcade side-games on a cooldown, each earned or waited for, never bought. - Two skins — Prism and Verdant — that change the palette, symbol names and soundtrack and nothing else. No skin alters a probability or a payout. - Every probability published in-app, generated from the same table the machine rolls against, including a must-hit-by ceiling on the wheel's top prizes. - A synthesised soundtrack and vector critters: the whole extension is 162 KB and ships no audio or image assets beyond four icons. **Privacy.** Lumenreel makes no network requests of any kind. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics and no telemetry. Your save lives in local extension storage on this device and is never synced or transmitted. It never reads the pages you visit, because it has no permission to and no code that would. There is no payment surface anywhere in it: nothing to buy, no currency purchasable with money, no ads. **Permissions in plain English.** - `storage` — keeps your save (Lumens, Facets, collection, settings) on this device between sessions. It is the only permission requested. **Support and what changed.** Details, screenshots and a demo: https://dhseadev.online/projects/lumenreel/ Report a problem through the support link on that page. **v0.9.0** — the Verdant Grove is now the rarest draw in the game rather than the third most likely, and it no longer requires the Verdant skin to be active; a full Grove now earns what a full Radiant tier earns instead of roughly seventeen times it. The Playground gained a roster you choose (up to 24 out at once), a ticker, a persistent chatlog and a PNG export of the stage as you arranged it. Critters now walk over to one another before speaking and address each other by name.
