Overview
IIIF Presentation API manifest checker & validator
loupe-iiif checks and validates IIIF Presentation API manifests, right in your browser. IIIF manifests can break in ways that are hard to spot: a missing comma, a misspelled field, an image URL that quietly 404s. loupe-iiif finds these issues before your viewer does. Paste a manifest, load it from a URL, or open a file. It appears in a code editor and is checked as you type. Problems are underlined where they occur and listed in a report, with one click to jump to the exact spot in the JSON. What it checks, in four layers: • Well-formedness: is it valid JSON? • Spec conformance: does it match the IIIF Presentation API structure? • Linking: do the URLs it references actually resolve? • Best practices: is it valid but ill-advised (missing labels, thumbnails, rights info)? loupe-iiif auto-detects which version of the Presentation API a manifest declares and validates against that version's rules. Supports Presentation 2.1 and 3.0 today.
