Lorem Ipsum Generator — Version 3.1 Placeholder text you can actually use: generated in one click, copied in one more. This is the largest rebuild the extension has had. The text engine was rewritten from scratch, the interface was redesigned, and every string was reviewed in all 43 supported languages. Here is what changed. THE TEXT IS NOW GENUINELY LOREM IPSUM Earlier versions shipped a third-party generator that produced "Mussum Ipsum", a Brazilian-Portuguese comedy filler, rather than the Latin placeholder copy the extension's name promised. Every result also carried a hard-coded advertising line for that third-party project. That engine has been removed and replaced with one written for this extension. Output now opens with the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit..." passage and uses the standard Latin vocabulary designers expect. A related defect went with it: the old engine joined sentences with no space between them, so nearly every paragraph contained runs like "...dolor sit amet.Consectetur adipiscing...". Sentence spacing, capitalisation and comma placement are now correct, and no word repeats immediately after itself. NEW: CHOOSE YOUR UNIT You are no longer limited to whole paragraphs. Generate by paragraphs, sentences or words — up to 500 paragraphs, 2,000 sentences or 10,000 words. Word and sentence counts are exact, not approximate. NEW: THREE OUTPUT FORMATS Take the result as plain text, as HTML with each paragraph wrapped in paragraph tags, or as Markdown. Saved files use the matching file extension automatically. NEW: A TOOLBAR POPUP The most common job — generate a few paragraphs, copy them, get back to work — no longer requires opening a tab. Click the toolbar icon and the popup handles it in two clicks. The full page is still one click away when you want longer output or want to save to a file. NEW: YOUR SETTINGS ARE REMEMBERED Unit, amount, format and the opening-line toggle are saved and restored, and they stay in sync between the popup and the full page. NEW: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT Press Ctrl+Shift+L (Cmd+Shift+L on macOS) to open the generator without reaching for the mouse. NEW: DARK MODE The interface follows your system light or dark setting. NEW: OPTIONAL CLASSIC OPENING The "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..." opening is on by default and can be switched off when you want unseeded text. FIXED: BAD INPUT NO LONGER WIPES YOUR WORK Previously, leaving the amount field empty or entering 0, a negative number, or a number above the limit caused the extension to silently erase whatever it had already generated and then produce nothing at all, with no explanation. Input is now checked before anything is generated: you get a clear message explaining what to enter, and your previous result stays on screen untouched. FIXED: COPYING NOW CONFIRMS IT WORKED The copy button used a deprecated browser interface and gave no feedback, so there was no way to tell whether anything had reached your clipboard. It now uses the modern clipboard interface, shows a "Copied!" confirmation, and falls back automatically if the browser refuses the request. FIXED: YOU CAN SELECT THE TEXT AGAIN A stylesheet rule had disabled text selection across the entire page, including the output box. That made it impossible to highlight part of a result or copy it by hand, forcing everyone through the copy button. Selection works normally again. FIXED: LEFTOVER INTERFACE TEXT Several labels were left over from a different tool and described a numeric range rather than placeholder text — the amount field was labelled "Lower limit" and the button read "Generate number". All of it has been rewritten to describe what the extension actually does. FIXED: THE "NEW" BADGE The red "new" badge on the toolbar icon reappeared after every routine update. It now appears only on a genuine first install. FIXED AND IMPROVED: 43 LANGUAGES The window title was missing a translation in 41 of the 43 supported languages and silently fell back to English. It has been added everywhere. Beyond that, every string was reviewed language by language and a substantial number of machine-translation errors were corrected — including product names that read as "power generator" or "dynamo", a button that said "Follow us" where it meant "Rate us", and one label that was simply the same phrase printed twice. Arabic, Hebrew and Persian now display right-to-left. Previously the interface was laid out left-to-right in those languages no matter what the system was set to. ACCESSIBILITY The page now uses proper headings instead of a layout table, form controls are labelled for screen readers, error messages are announced when they appear, and keyboard focus is always visible. SMALLER, AND STILL PRIVATE Four bundled libraries that were no longer needed have been removed, so the extension downloads and loads much faster. The extension asks for a single permission, used only to remember your settings between sessions. It cannot read the pages you visit, it contains no analytics or tracking, and nothing you generate ever leaves your browser.
