Save windows, tabs, and tab groups locally. Snapshots are kept and never overwritten.

Holdfast keeps a local history of your open tabs so a closed window, a restart, or a bad day does not throw that work away. Your saved tabs never get lost. A new snapshot is added beside the older ones. It does not overwrite them. Deleting a save moves it to the trash, where you can restore it. Emptying the trash is the step that actually removes data, and the library asks first. What a save includes - The current window, or every window, in one click - Page title, address, pinned state, and the favicon address - Tab groups, including the name and the color - Window size and position Saving does not close your tabs. Automatic snapshots Holdfast can take a snapshot on a timer, when the browser starts, and when a window closes. If nothing changed, it does not write a duplicate. On the free plan the latest 10 automatic snapshots stay in the library. Older ones move to the trash. Saves you make yourself are not part of that limit. Restore Reopen a save into new windows. Tab groups come back with the same names and colors. Pinned tabs come back pinned. Pages the browser does not allow an extension to reopen stay listed, so you still have the address. Import and export Export a JSON file you can open in any text editor. Import that file, or a plain list of addresses with one address per line. Importing adds to the library. It does not replace what is already there. If a save file or the on-disk index fails its check, Holdfast restores the last good index and keeps every snapshot still on disk. It will not replace a library it could not read with an empty one. Pro Pro is $15 a year or $29 once. A license key turns on: - Unlimited automatic snapshots - A scheduled backup file in your downloads folder, and restore from a backup file - Search across every saved tab - Duplicate-tab cleanup The key is checked with the payment provider when you enter it, and again about once a week. If you are offline, Pro keeps working for 14 days after the last successful check. That check sends the key, not your tabs. Privacy Tab saves stay in local extension storage on this computer. There is no account. The only network request is the license check, and only after you choose to enter a key. Uninstalling the extension removes local storage. Export a backup first if you want a copy that survives that.
