"LockTrans" is a free browser extension created specifically to solve this issue. Its primary goal is to let you forcibly translate text into your desired language with a single click, complete with audio pronunciation. [How to Use] Click the "Extensions" icon in your browser to pin "LockTrans". Click "LockTrans" to select your source and target languages (an illustrated guide opens on first run). Trigger translation (mix & match from 3 methods): ・Highlight text → Release mouse → Press Shift ・Highlight text → Click the floating LockTrans icon ・Highlight text → Right-click → Select "LockTrans Translate" The translation and pronunciation guide appear right below the selected text without breaking your reading flow. No account is required. ・AI mode (optional): only after you enable it and enter your own API key, the selected text (plus ~200 characters of surrounding text if "Include surrounding text" is on) and your glossary are sent directly to the AI service you configured. The API key is stored only in your browser, is not synced, and is never sent to the developer. Each AI provider handles data under its own policy (for example, free tiers may use content to improve models) — please check it and avoid confidential text. ・The developer runs no servers and does not collect, store or sell personal data.
