Overview
Prevents a tab from being closed accidentally
Adds a padlock icon that allows toggling each tab's lock/unlocked state. When a locked tab is being closed, a confirmation dialog which allows preventing the tab from closing, is displayed. š£ IMPORTANT: after locking, some interaction with the page is required for it to work. So you need to, for example, click anywhere on the page after locking to actually prevent the tab from being closed. This is how Chrome works.

Works well. Suggestion: An option/exception to allow a locked tab to refresh it's own url.

Hi, John. Would love to add that option, but unfortunately it's not possible. The extension relies on the onbeforeunload browser event to prevent tabs from being closed/refreshed/navigate to another URL, and there's no way to differentiate those.

This extension is a lifesaver. I accidentally manage to almost close my browser at least twice a day.

Locks tabs, but also flags when loading new pages in locked tabs. Since a ton of sites work by clicling and it takes you to a new page, this ends up being overly annoying for those pages. CNN, nytimes, washington post, all do that behavior. Even when I try and close chrome out, it warns me that I'm going to a new page. removing extension as not really usable in it's current form

Hello, Brett. That's exactly the use-case that Lock Tab is designed to cover. I created it mainly to avoid leaving calls (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc.) unexpectedly, to prevent a transfer/payment from being interrupted in my online banking site, etc. Both by myself hitting ā+W in my keyboard and by links inside a page which navigate away instead of opening a new tab. Moreover, the behavior you're describing you want can't be accomplished since there's no way in Chrome to differentiate the event of a tab being closed and that of a navigation from a click.
